Starlings is no ordinary home. Compared to the other homes in the area it has a special feel, mostly because it it 40-60 years older than most of the other houses.
As soon as we moved in the Mrs. determined that the house needed a name. Many names were considered Blessings, Blessing House, Providence etc. Racoon's Rest was seriously considered as a sick racoon moved in the same week and did not want to leave for nearly a month.
Starlings was always a contender but as it was the name of Mrs. Miniver's country home it didn't seem original enough but Starlings kept coming up as an example and eventually the Mrs. just gave in. Starlings it was christened and we love it.
